Our Story
Chapel & District Riding Club sits on Charley Lane, between Chinley and Chapel‑en‑le‑Frith, right in the heart of the Peak District.
April through September, the showground comes alive with ridden and in-hand classes, clear round jumping, and qualifiers for national championships. Classes run from lead-rein through to open, with entry fees reduced for members.
CDRC isn't only for riders. Plenty of people come along without a horse — to watch, to help out, to enjoy the atmosphere and the Derbyshire hills. You don't need to own a horse to be part of our community.
At the end of each season we hold our awards evening, where championship points are tallied and the Overall Supreme is crowned. It's one of the highlights of the CDRC calendar.
Charley Lane, between Chinley and Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derbyshire SK23 6DX. Surrounded by rolling Peak District hills — one of the best settings for a show anywhere in the north.
No running water on site — please bring your own.
Six shows between April and September, featuring qualifiers for Equifest, NCPA, VHS, TSSS and Equine Sport UK. The season closes with the Rising Stars championship and the Overall Supreme title.
Affiliations
CDRC is affiliated to British Riding Clubs and the British Horse Society, which means our members can compete at area and national level and benefit from BRC insurance cover.
We're also part of the Northern Liaison Group alongside Antrobus RC, Wilmslow RC and Macclesfield RC. Members enjoy discounted entry fees at all NLG clubs — a great way to get more competition experience across the region.
You don't need to be a member to attend — just turn up, have a look around, and see if CDRC is for you.
